These qualifications allow learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the automotive industry.
This course is ideal if you are interested in starting or developing a career in the motor industry, whether you want to maintain and repair different types of vehicles (cars, vans, trucks, or even motorcycles), fit and replace parts and tyres, run your own car valeting business or work on hybrid vehicles safely. You do not need any previous experience or need to be in a current work placement.
You will have the opportunity to cover a wide range of skills and knowledge by taking a combination of mandatory and optional units. Some of the key modules on this course include skills in materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in an automotive environment, routine light vehicle maintenance, replacing engine units and components, replacing electrical and chassis units and fuel, ignition and exhaust systems.
Under the guidance of our expert tutors who have worked in the industry themselves, you will have access to state-of-the-art equipment in our purpose-built workshops. You will also have the opportunity to complete a work placement to give you experience of working in the motor vehicle industry.
