COURSE

OVERVIEW

In the first year of the T Level, you will learn about a range of core knowledge and skills related to the Early Years sector, ages 0 to 19. You will have access to our mock nursery and be taught by industry experts to develop your skills in a dynamic, practical environment.
In your second year, you will complete the assisting teaching occupational specialism pathway. This pathway will enable you to become proficient in supporting the class teacher to enhance children’s education, individually or in groups whilst planning in collaboration with teachers and other adults.
You will need to secure a work placement and over the two-year qualification will complete 750 hours of mandatory placement. During this time, you will be supported to develop plans and opportunities to respond to children’s needs, including those with SEND.

You will need GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above, and four other GCSEs at grade 4 or above.
The qualification will be assessed using a variety of formative and summative methods such as: powerpoints, presentations, making tik toks, reports and posters. You will also be expected to create reflective diaries, activity plans and be involved in professional discussions. You will also be involved in moderated assessments.
HE Primary Teaching HE Social Work Level 3 Award in Education and Training Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
This course will prepare you to enter directly into employmeny as an Assistant Teacher, or go on to a higher education course.
