COURSE

OVERVIEW

This course is an in-depth qualification that will equip you with all the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to work in the Travel and Tourism Aviation industry. Over the two years, you will complete a range of modules covering the UK and International Travel and Tourism industry, as well specialist modules covering aviation.
The Travel and Tourism modules you will complete are: the UK Travel and Tourism Industry; Customer Service in Travel and Tourism; Preparing for a Career in Travel and Tourism and UK Visitor Attractions. You will develop your knowledge of the aviation sector and its job roles by completing these modules: Investigating Airline Cabin Crew; UK Airports; Worldwide Passenger Airlines; Airport Terminal Operations and Airport Ground Operations.
Each module on the course will introduce you to a different role within this industry, allowing you to understand the breadth of roles available and plan your career path once you leave college. Work Experience is built into your timetable at college and you will have lots of exciting opportunities to engage with major employers in the industry through talks, trips and work placement.
As this course is preparing you for a professional role, you will be required to purchase a uniform for your studies. More information about costs, how to buy and support available will be communicated to you before you start the course.

A minimum of five GCSEs with the following grades: English at 4 or above and maths at 3 or above and three other GCSEs at 4 or above. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be continually assessed throughout this qualification through a portfolio of evidence.
Training scheme within the aviation industry, apprenticeship or employment.
People who complete this course go on to a number of roles, including cabin crew, ground control, airport terminal operator and travel agent.
