Food and drink advanced process operators work in one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of industry. As an advanced operator, you will work in the manufacturing sector of the food and drink industry. Typically, you will work on production lines in manufacturing plants and spend some time offline working on activities, such as new product development. You will be able to evaluate and make improvements to safety, quality and performance in a food and drink manufacturing environment. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of food and drink products, health and safety systems, quality systems and good manufacturing processes (GMP). You will be trained to interpret data to identify trends and carry out basic fault finding to improve quality and productivity.
On completion of the apprenticeship, you may be expected to lead others which will develop your leadership and management skills and allow you to progress to more advanced technical or leadership roles.
