This Level 2 qualification in Art and Design skills will further your creative practice and prepare you for higher level study of art and design.

COURSE
OVERVIEW
This part-time course for adult learners (19+) is designed to help you gain a wide-range of art and design practice skills. Sessions will take place on a Friday daytime at our Pioneer Higher Skills Centre in Dewsbury, where you will be taught by expert practitioners.
On the course, you will five key content areas: investigation, communication, practical skills, development and approach. You will integrate these five core skills into the art and design projects you work on, which will be set by your tutor.
You will work with a range of media and materials on this course. From drawing and painting, to textiles, 3D modelling, and graphic design, you will be encouraged to develop a range of skills and hone in on the ones you really love.
You will also develop your work-skills for the creative industries by responding to a client / live brief. This aspect of the course will also help with personal and professional development.

Entry Requirements
It is recommended that learners have a minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Assessment Methods
This qualification is 100% internally set and assessed, and will be based on portfolios of work.
Course Progression
You can progress to a Level 3 art and design course at college.
Career Progression
This course will prepare you for a range of roles in art and design, including graphic design and digital communication, fine art practice and other related roles in the creative industries.
