DESCRIPTION
  • Assist in building and repairing walls using bricks and blocks
  • Prepare and mix mortar to the correct consistency
  • Set out work areas and follow building plans and drawings
  • Lay bricks and blocks to line and level under supervision
  • Maintain tools and equipment and use them safely
  • Follow all health and safety procedures on site
  • Keep work areas clean and organised
  • Attend college sessions and complete all required coursework
  • You will be working in a various locations in the Kirklees area
  • Pick up points negotiable

  • Apprentices must be employed in a bricklaying role to complete the programme

GCSE in Maths and English with grade 2 or above

This apprenticeship combines hands-on site work with college training to develop essential bricklaying skills. Apprentices will learn how to build walls, mix mortar, and work safely on construction projects while gaining experience on live sites.
Delivered with Kirklees College, the programme typically lasts 18–24 months and leads to a recognised Level 2 qualification, with opportunities to progress into employment or further training.
On completion, apprentices will be able to carry out a range of bricklaying tasks safely and to industry standards, including constructing walls and basic masonry structures. They will have the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to work effectively on construction sites and progress into skilled employment or further training within the bricklaying profession.
