This £7.5m specialist centre boasts state-of-the-art equipment and workshops for CNC, manufacturing, maintenance, mechanics, fabrication and welding, as well as student recreation and breakout areas. There is also a dedicated automotive workshop designed to replicate a real-life Motor Vehicle workshop.
At Kirklees College, we are proud to be innovators of engineering and this £7.5 million specialist Engineering Centre, with workshops for CNC, manufacturing, mechanics, fabrication and welding.
Thanks to Government investment in the form of the Local Skills Investment Fund (LSIF), our Engineering Centre also contains 3D printers and VR headsets for students to use that will equip them with the skills they need to work in this increasingly digital industry.
There are a range of courses on offer here, including 16-18 courses, T Levels and apprenticeships. With such amazing facilities available, such as science kits, material testing equipment and digital microscopes, and teaching staff with years of industry expertise, our Engineering Centre is one of the best places in West Yorkshire for any budding engineer to train.
The site lead for Engineering Centre is Steve Plumstead, Director of Curriculum.
