COURSE
OVERVIEW
We will work with you to plan your customised programme and strive toward the goals in your EHCP. The course will be outwards facing, and we will work towards supporting you to live independently. Most of your learning will happen outside of the classroom and what you want to learn will determine the rest.
On this course you will do a number of activities to help you become more independent. These may include exploring the local offer, travel and using transport, shopping, household tasks, time and money management, accessing medical help and using IT to support independent living. Most of your lessons will be practical and you will learn English and maths skills in this way too.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You will take part in an interview to see if the course is right for you and to see if you have any additional support needs.
If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.

This course has been designed as the end entry point or progression route on the Pathway to Independence. Students may progress onto external provision or the employment pathway depending upon their EHCP outcomes and their aspirations for the future.
