COURSE
OVERVIEW
Building on the knowledge developed during the HNC, or your own personal and professional experience, this HTQ is designed to help you gain knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to the Occupational Standard (OS) for Operations or Departmental Manager. In short, this means that successful completion of the HNC will allow you to enter employment at managerial level.
This HND presents an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills through a range of relevant and practical units. As a college, we have collaborated on the formation of this qualification, alongside other businesses and training providers, to ensure that all units and topics explored will prepare you to work as a leader or manager in a range of businesses.
You will complete a range of mandatory modules, including: The Contemporary Business Environment; Marketing Processes and Planning; Management of Human Resources; Leadership and Management; Accounting Principles; Managing a Successful Business Project; Operational Planning and Management; Digital Business in Practice; Organisational Behaviour Management; Managing and Leading Change; Principles of Operations Management; Business Strategy; Business Information Technology Systems; Developing Individuals, Teams and Organisations; Business Communications and Relationship Management, and Business Data Analytics and Insights.
You will also collaborate with your class peers and tutors to develop a unit project based on a business theme set by Pearson. You will then develop an assignment related to this theme, giving you experience of planning, analysing and evaluating a business topic, as you would in a managerial position.
Tuesdays 09:00-17:00 and Wednesdays 09:00-16:30
Finance and Funding
The full-time course fee for this course is £6,950. Financial support including Advanced Learner Loans are available for this course.
Entry Requirements
Progression from the Level 4 HNC or an alternative HNC from another college, on approval of unit choice.
Assessment Methods
You will be assessed on a range of written and practical assignments throughout the HND.
Course Progression
You can progress directly into employment, or apply for a related Business course at University or Higher Apprenticeship Level.
Career Progression
Completion of the HND will prepare you for a range of Leadership and Management roles, including Department Manager and Team Leader.
