APPRENTICESHIP

OVERVIEW

  • Reading engineering drawings, specifications and production documents
  • Supporting the planning and scheduling of manufacturing work
  • Updating production records, technical documents and reports
  • Using computer software to enter, analyse and present technical information
  • Checking components, materials and finished equipment for quality
  • Assisting with product inspections, testing and fault finding
  • Helping engineers and production staff solve technical or manufacturing problems
  • Supporting product improvements, prototypes and development projects
  • Monitoring stock, materials and the progress of work through production
  • Communicating updates and technical information to colleagues
  • Keeping work areas organised and following health and safety procedures
  • Recording evidence and completing coursework for the apprenticeship
