The apprentice will be completing numerous tasks, these include: H&S legislation and Safe Working Procedures, Planning and preparation prior to weld activity. Correct set-up of equipment for use (safety).

Use of correct methods for moving and handling
Operation of appropriate tools & weld equipment
Inspection & testing of joints
Carry out quality checks
Interpretation of technical drawings
Keeping work area clear and safe at all times
General day-to-day environment of a production facility

What will I learn

Level 3 Metal Fabricator Advanced Apprenticeship Standard:

In college, one day a week over the full period of the apprenticeship
The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA-approved organisations independent from the college.
