Beginners English (ESOL)

This class will cover greetings and introductions, phonics, basic vocabulary, and core grammar.

COURSE

OVERVIEW

You will work on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills whilst identifying key words in conversations; asking and answering using 5Ws; reading high-frequency words, signs, and labels. You will also practice and gain confidence writing personal details, dates, numbers and short simple sentences.
To enrol, either attend on the day (2 November) or email ace@kirkleescollege.ac.uk for further information. Please bring proof of identification, proof of address, income, Home Office documents and National Insurance number.
You will initially gain confidence in exchanging personal information such as name, address, number, and background. You will also develop phonetic awareness, recognising letter sounds to decode simple written words and signs.
