COURSE

OVERVIEW

This Level 2 course will provide you with an understanding of the principles of working in the aviation industry. You will undertake the following compulsory modules: health and safety in aviation, aviation security, aviation communication, customer service in aviation and problem solving in aviation.
You will expand your learning further through studying a range of modules related to aviation handling, aircraft marshalling and turnaround, ground service operations, check-in procedures, supporting passengers with special requirements and sales skills in the service agent role. This will provide you with a breadth and depth overview of the different roles required in the aviation industry.
You will study full-time at our Huddersfield Centre, where you will train in our simulation air craft cabin. You will be taught by industry professionals and engage in a range of extra-curricular activities to deepen your understanding of the Travel and Tourism industry. You will have work placement opportunities with a range of major employers, for example Jet2.
Whilst on your study programme, you will continue to work on your English, maths and digital skills. If you have not achieved a grade 4 in your English and/or maths GCSEs, you will continue to work towards these qualifications.

A minimum of five GCSEs with the following grades: English at 4 or above and maths at 2 or above and three other GCSEs at 3 or above. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
This qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence, including observation, reports, question and answer sheets, blogs and proof of work.
Travel and Tourism – Aviation Level 3
This course will prepare you for a range of careers in the aviation industry, including ground control, customer service and flight attendant.
