COURSE

OVERVIEW

This qualification allows you to acquire advanced underpinning knowledge and related skills of electrical installation. The qualification does not require occupational evidence so is suitable if you currently do not work in the electrical industry but wish to progress into employment or higher education.
This course will provide you with the essential practical skills and underpinning knowledge to become fully qualified in the electrical industry. You will learn about health and safety and wiring regulations so you can practice safely in the industry. You will also understand inspection and testing.
You will understand installation containment and electrical principles. You will also learn about installation and technology, as well as fault diagnosis and how to rectify any fault you may encounter.
The course has a successful track record of students progressing from this course into employment within the building services sector. There are a number of job opportunities within the sector currently due to the skills shortage. An estimated 168,500 jobs will be created over the next five years and labour market intelligence predicts Yorkshire and Humber need to recruit 10,000 new workers to meet demand.

A Level 2 in Electrical Installation and grade 4 in English and maths. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
