COURSE

OVERVIEW

During this Level 3 course, you will study the fashion industry and textile making techniques in depth to develop your personal creative practice and portfolio. This will prepare you for higher level study and a career in the industry.
Fashion skills you will develop include pattern cutting, dressmaking, digital content creation and design. You will also study womenswear, menswear and childrenswear and other design niches, including bridal, costumes, knitwear and different cultural / themed dress.
You will also develop your textile making skills, including design for interiors and accessories. Throughout the course, you will work with your Personal Development Coach to find suitable work placement opportunities which will give you the vital experience needed to work in this competitive and demanding industry.

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and a GCSE/Level 2 qualification in fashion or a creative subject. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be continually assessed through project work and your portfolio.
Higher Education, including Foundation and BA (Hons) degrees in fashion-related subjects.
Fashion design, personal stylist, fashion buyer, merchandising, fashion marketing and retail manager.
