COURSE
OVERVIEW
The Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Space Technologies provides a broad foundation in space engineering principles and satellite technologies. The programme develops scientific, analytical and computational skills required for entry-level roles within the growing UK space sector.
Students gain understanding of spacecraft systems, satellite manufacturing processes and the impact of the space environment on engineering design. The qualification supports progression to the Level 5 HND (Higher National Diploma) or entry-level technical roles in space and aerospace industries.
Students study Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Managing a Professional Engineering Project, Programming for Engineers, CAD/CAM, Space Environment and Applications, and Space Technologies and Manufacturing.
You will be taught by Engineering experts and all your classes will take place at Kirklees College’s multi-million, cutting edge Engineering Centre in Huddersfield. With some of the best facilities in the industry, you will learn practical skills using the very best, cutting-edge equipment.
Finance and Funding
Thic sourse costs £8,000. You can apply for a student loan through Student Finance England.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 48 UCAS Tariff points from:
BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
Access to HE Diploma
T Levels, A Levels
Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher
Appropriate Level 3 qualification
Plus
GCSE English – Grade C/4 or above
GCSE Maths – Grade C/4 or above
*For mature applicants, some relevant industrial background may be taken in lieu of A Levels/BTECs
