COURSE

OVERVIEW

Life in the public services can be challenging, rewarding, interesting and exciting. This one-year course has been designed to be a stepping stone into a fulfilling and rewarding career within the public and uniformed services industry.
You will be required to show commitment and willingness to learn during the course. Through both practical and theory-based lessons, you will gain an understanding of what is required within the many roles available in the uniformed services.
You will develop your knowledge of how the industry works and gain practical skills, such as map reading, self-management, team work and development of your own personal skills. You will be put to the test through the development of your own fitness levels to match those within the industry.
We will help you to develop your organisation and leadership skills. You will then have the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom by partaking in a number of social action projects.

A minimum of four GCSEs with the following grades: English at 2 or above and maths at 1 or above and two other GCSEs at 2 or above. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us
There are no formal exams throughout this course. You will be assessed to nationally set standards through various activities such as discussions, group presentations and activities, written assignments, practical demonstrations, fitness tests and observations.
Level 2 Physical Preparation for Entry to the Uniformed Protective Services
This course is a perfect stepping stone support a career in the public services sector, which offers jobs in the police, health service, fire service and armed forces.
