OVERVIEW

On this course, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the music sector and gain valuable experience of music production and performance.
Throughout the course, you will deepen your knowledge of music history and theory, using your knowledge to enhance your music performance and composition. You will also develop your music production skills and use our specialist equipment at college to create your own DAW project.
The course has four mandatory modules across two years of study which are: Music Skills Development or Production Skills Development, The Music Industry, Personal Music Profile and Collaborative Music Project.
Professional and employability skills are also a key part of this qualification and across the two years you will undertake a range of collaborative and independent projects that will help you develop your organisational and technical skills and enhance your professional practice and conduct.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs with the following grades: English at 4 or above and maths at 3 or above and 3 other GCSEs at 4 or above. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
This course is assessed internally through a series of units that are graded on elements of both performance and written elements.
University – degrees include: BMus in Music, BA (Hons) in Music Technology and Production and BA (Hons) in Music Performance, Production and Composition Level 4/5 qualification Employment
Students can seek employment in roles such as: music producer, freelance musician, writer, manager, events coordinator and technical support.
