COURSE

OVERVIEW

If you are passionate about health, fitness, and exercise, then this industry ready course is a perfect fit. By completing this qualification, you will meet industry requirements to become a REPS recognised personal trainer.
On the course, you will examine key principles of nutrition to support a client’s health, promote and encourage healthy lifestyle behaviours and long-term change, design and implement effective training sessions for a range of clients meeting client expectations. You will also develop an understanding for building a business acumen for working in both an employed role and for self-employment.
On conclusion of this course, you will have acquired the competencies to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to individual needs of a client.
Alongside your studies, you will gain real life experience of gym operations by supporting the staff team running the Kirklees College Waterfront Gym.

Certificate in Gym Instruction Level 2. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, including a combination of practical, written assignments, coursework and multiple-choice exam.
