T Level Foundation Year Engineering Level 2

This foundation course is designed to prepare you to study for a full T Level if you didn’t meet the entry requirements to access the level 3 T Level course.

COURSE

OVERVIEW

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills for direct entry to the T Level in Engineering. As well as giving you time to develop your knowledge of key maths and science principles applied to engineering, you will learn and experience a wide range of engineering disciplines.
You will study a mixture of practical and theoretical topics whilst developing key manufacturing skills and engineering knowledge which are all essential for successful study at T Level.
You will study hand fitting and assembly techniques, manual turning, manual milling, computer aided design, electrical and electronic principles and engineering design techniques. You will be provided with all health and safety equipment and PPE, including workshop overalls and safety boots.
The T Level in Engineering, Manufacturing and Processing and Control is a highly challenging and yet rewarding study programme that gives you a broad base in engineering theory with the application of knowledge through practical tasks and a substantial work placement. This transition pathway will prepare you for the demands of the T Level course whilst giving you a broad experience of a variety of engineering disciplines and careers.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following grades: English at 3 or above and maths at 3 or above and 2 other GCSEs at 3 or above including a science or technology course. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be assessed through an online test, written exams, practical tests.
Engineering, Manufacturing and Processing and Control T Level Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Level 3
You can to progress to a career as a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, Machinist, Design and Development Engineer, Fitter, Engineering Technician or Civil Engineer.
