COURSE

OVERVIEW

The Vocational Pathways provision is a full-time study programme for students who want to progress onto Level 1 vocational programmes but may need some extra support. The course focuses on personal and social development, English and maths, work-based activity and vocational tasters within the college.
On the Care pathway you will spend your year with the Health and Social Care, Education and Early Years, and Foundation departments learning about working in the care sector. The course will cover components such as: meeting the needs of children and older people, inclusivity for people with disabilities and equality and diversity.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be assessed through group work and coursework.
Activities on this course will be practical and will support any move onto a Level 1 course in this field the following year. Gaining a GCSE in English and maths will also help you to progress onto a Level 1 course.
