COURSE

OVERVIEW

The Vocational Pathways provision is a full-time study programme for students who wish to progress onto a Level 1 vocational programmes but need some extra support when starting college. The course focuses on personal and social development, english and maths, work-based activity and vocational tatsers within the college.
On the Art and Design pathway, you will be based at either our Springfield Sixth Form Centre or Huddersfield Waterfront Quarter site and spend the year learning a range of art and design techniques in our bespoke studio. You will explore a variety of techniques including design methods, pottery and art techniques. You will learn about local and national artists and will partcipate in visits to view art and design in the community.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
You will be assessed through group work and coursework.
After this course, you can progress onto an accredited Level 1 course within the college or employment. Gaining your GCSE in English and maths will support this transition.
The Art and Design industry has lots of careers on offer, including artist, photographer, junior illustrator, freelance artist and graphic designer.
