Students on our Access to Higher Education courses are planning the next steps in their educational journey after achieving exceptional results on their Access to Higher Education course.
The students’ success and their resulting progression are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the individuals over the academic year and the support they receive from their incredible tutors.

Students move towards rewarding careers in the health sector
Jessica Catling will now be studying Midwifery at the University of Huddersfield, and Katie Fenn will be going to the same university to study Podiatry.
Amaarah Khaliq is looking forward to studying Pharmaceutical Sciences at Bradford University.
What about the entrepreneurs, accountants and law professionals of the future?
Students wanting a career in business or law are now also pursuing their higher education across Business, Finance and Accounting courses. One example was Afzal Ahmed, who will now be studying Accounting and Finance at Leeds Trinity University.
Esha Alam and Aaryan Ali are now going to be studying Law, with Esha moving to the University of Huddersfield on a four-year integrated master’s programme and Aaryan heading to Liverpool John Moores University.
Ella Parker will also be studying Law at university and thanked the college for helping her make the next step in education and career. She said: “The course allowed me to study a subject I have always been interested in and it has also enabled me to go on to study law at Leeds Beckett University in September and has also supported me in getting a summer placement at a legal charity to gain experience.”
Start on a pathway to higher education at Kirklees College
The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is a qualification that prepares students for study at degree level. Courses are designed, in particular, for people who have been out of education for some time, especially those who left school with too few qualifications.
Over the last academic year, students across the different pathways have been involved in a range of career-enhancing opportunities to help them with their next steps and plan for their futures. One of the best examples of this is students on the Law pathway having the opportunity to sit in on court proceedings at Leeds Crown Court.
