Three Access to Higher Education students recently completed a 15,000 feet skydive to raise money for Kirkwood Hospice.
Jess Catling, Celine Ellis, and Emma Sharpe completed this incredible fundraising with dedication and enthusiasm.
They raised over £2,400, with that achievement marking the culmination of their ‘Campaign for Kindness’.
Roxanne Bahri, Programme Lead for Access to HE, said: “We are extremely proud of what they have accomplished, not only in terms of the funds raised but also the awareness and positivity they have brought to such an important cause.”
The students reflect on a once-in-a-lifetime experience
Jess: “Taking part in the skydive with Celine and Emma was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Together, we managed to raise an incredible £2400 for Kirkwood, a cause that means so much to us. It wasn’t just about the jump it was about pushing past fear, supporting each other, and doing something meaningful for others, which started as a small campaign for Kirklees College. It’s a moment I’ll always be proud of and one I’ll never forget.
Celine: Before meeting Emma and Jess, I wasn’t aware of The Kirkwood Hospice. Once they told me about the charity, I was ecstatic to support them with fundraising. What started with a long hike to raise money quickly turned into a skydive. I am happy we took the plunge. I have enjoyed every moment of fundraising and taking part in the campaign for kindness, explaining the amazing things that the charity does to support families. I am extremely proud of us all for raising £2,400 to support families going through unspeakable times.”
Emma: “Taking part in the skydive for Kirkwood Hospice was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. Sharing it with Jess and Celine made it even more special, and together we raised over £2400 for such an incredible cause that means so much to us. It’s something I’ll never forget.”
