Kirklees College is delighted to launch its first Targeted Employment Programmes (TEP), courses designed to get people into employment.

TEPs have been designed to equip students with essential practical skills, industry awareness, and employability competencies for entry into specific sectors, including construction and health and social care.

Two different Construction programmes will be delivered by Kirklees College with direct employer input from ESH Construction and Keir Construction, ensuring alignment with current industry expectations and real-world job standards.

Learners will participate in practical workshops, core health and safety training, and employability sessions. These local employers contribute specialist input, mock interviews, and insight into construction career pathways.

Speaking about the college’s collaboration with ESH Group, Sharon Archer, Curriculum Director for Adult Skills at Kirklees College, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to launch our first Targeted Employment Programme at Kirklees College. Working alongside ESH Group within the Construction Industry, one of the largest privately owned construction businesses delivering projects in the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber.

“This course will give learners real insight, practical skills, confidence and a guaranteed job interview. It’s a fantastic step in helping people move closer to meaningful careers in the construction industry.”

What are the entry requirements for the course?

To enrol, students must be currently unemployed or earning under £25,750 gross, annually.
