The Snowdogs Support Life launches in Kirklees today, Friday 2 September.

31 large and 36 medium Snowdog sculptures have been designed and decorated by artists, schools and community groups. They will be displayed across Kirklees in public locations to form an art trail to drive footfall, highlighting cultural gems, and engaging with communities across North and South Kirklees.

Kirklees College is proud to sponsor ‘Together We Are One’ designed by Ellie Thomas. Her emotive design represents Kirklees’ diverse community and how The Kirkwood is here to help everyone who needs support. ‘Together We Are One’ is located outside the Packhorse Centre on Market Place.

Our Huddersfield Centre Manchester Road entrance has also welcomed Kirklees Council’s Snowdog, ‘Cheers to Volunteers’, designed by Gus Mainetti.

The Snowdog pups are already out in the community, with two pups on display at the Pioneer Higher Skills Centre in Dewsbury. The ‘Hero Dog’ has been designed by students at Kirklees College along with ‘Pedram’ which was designed by students at Silcoates School.

The Snowdogs will be in situ for the duration of the trail until 31 October.

If you are planning to take part in the art trail, download the Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees app and share your photos with us on social media using #SnowdogsKirklees.
