The Kirklees College Health and Social Care and Childcare department has raised £2,000 in aid of Motor Neurone Disease as part of its annual Christmas Extravaganza event.
The event was part of the college’s wider fundraising efforts for the Good for Me, Good for FE campaign which promotes fundraising and volunteering initiatives in the Further Education sector.
The team of 40 staff and students enlisted the support of Huddersfield Giants legend Eorl Crabtree on a 7-mile sponsored walk from Marsden train station to Huddersfield Centre.
Staff and students ran various fundraising activities throughout last week at its Huddersfield Centre and Springfield Sixth Form Centre in Dewsbury to hit their fundraising target. Students also ran a car wash and pop-up Christmas fairs with various stalls, raffles and games.
