As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we hosted an Engineering Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair, providing students with the opportunity to meet local employers and discuss current and future opportunities to work together.

The event was held at our specialist Engineering Centre in Huddersfield. Students currently studying on our Engineering programmes were able to come down and speak to employers about apprenticeship and employment opportunities in our region.

Employers attending were able to meet curriculum staff, discuss support for recruitment and receive a tour of the facilities.

This week, the Kirklees College Business Development Team has also been leading on apprenticeship talks to our current full-time Engineering students who are interested in progressing into apprenticeships.

Alan Parkinson, Business Development Manager said:

“The event was a fantastic success and gave students the chance to see just how many employers we work with at college, and the variety of opportunities available to them. It’s always a pleasure to welcome our employer partners and plan future recruitment around business need.”

Thank you to our partners at AIG Fabrications, Chem Resist Group Ltd, Forteq, Fox’s Biscuits, G Tuft, Hilton Process Solutions, Hovis, Reliance Precision Limited, Shipley Transport Services, Sonoco Alcore, Terberg DTSUK The Transpennine Route Upgrade, Vigo and Westin Engineering for attending.
