Kirklees College hosted its annual HE Week from 10 – 14 May.

HE Week promotes the options available for post-16 study available to students, from degree level study to apprenticeships and employment.

As a vocational college, Kirklees College is passionate about empowering students with practical knowledge and employability skills to make positive decisions about their future career options.

Working in partnership with some of the top local universities, including University of Bradford, Leeds Beckett University and Sheffield Hallam University, students attended live webinars to ask university staff live questions and learn more about the application process.

The Careers Team also delivered presentations throughout the week on enhancing students’ employability skills, such as writing a personal statement, degree apprenticeships, student finance and choosing the right course.

The Careers Team at Kirklees College said:

“We have really enjoyed introducing our students to higher education and the wealth of opportunities they can access. Being able to listen and ask questions to university staff with the support of the Careers Guidance Team has proved to be an invaluable opportunity for our students.”
