This week we welcomed a cohort of trainee teachers to Kirklees College for a four-day work placement.

The trainees are currently undertaking their PGCE in Secondary Education at the University of Huddersfield, and joined us to experience the further education environment and wider education sector.

The trainees have been shadowing staff in Engineering, Sport, Computing, Science, Art, Music, Drama, ESOL and English and Maths.

Karin Sykes, Higher Education and Skills Manager said:

“It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome the trainee teachers this week and allow them to experience the wonderful world of further education. They have taken on every task with enthusiasm, and our teaching staff have enjoyed having their help.”

“Hopefully we have helped inspire the next generation of teachers, and we look forward to working with the University of Huddersfield’s PGCE students again.”

We were delighted to welcome the trainees and give them a positive experience here at the college.
