This week, Kirklees College is welcoming its new and returning students after the summer break.

With students returning to college sites from today, all 16-18 new and return students should have completed a Covid-19 lateral flow test at either one of the college’s testing centres or the community centres based in Huddersfield or Batley. Students who have tested positive in the last 90 days will be required to show confirmation of this when they return to college.

As face to face teaching resumes, the college is reminding all staff and students of the new ‘Be Kind and Think of Others at Kirklees College’ message which includes regular hand washing, getting tested, wearing a face covering, giving others space and having both doses of the vaccine.

As a reminder, students aged 16-17 are now also eligible for their vaccine. Students can get their jab by visiting one of their local walk-in services or wait to be contacted by their GP.

The pandemic has presented many challenges for the Further Education sector so Kirklees College is excited to have students back on college sites to face to face learning and support its students in the next stage of their educational journey.

It is also not too late to enrol at Kirklees College to start a full-time course this September. The college has announced it will be running late enrolment sessions at its Huddersfield Centre and Springfield Sixth Form Centre on Tuesday 7 and 14 September.

Call the Enrolment Hotline on 01484 437100 to book an appointment.
